One year has gone by since Isabel left us.
On this occasion, these thoughts have been sent to remember her.

Yesterday, at about 10:30am CST, I went and sat beside the little Japanese maple by the springhouse where I put some of Isabel's ashes. I stayed there for almost an hour, until the rain drove me inside. I was reminded of one year ago at that time, it also rained. Since then, my mind has simply been with Isabel.

Lemon tree and gardenia, she cherished your pleasures.
Receive these ashes which bring life and love anew.

Roses blooming in my garden, she was the brightest of the bouquet.
Her petals more delicate than yours.

Flickering candles, reveal in your flame the galaxies of wonder in her eyes.
She was a kindred spirit to you.

Dreamers, awake and in slumber, she knew us well.
She was a dreamer, too.

Friends far and near, feeling the joy and sorrow of remembrance,
Take heart...the best memories are forever.

And she awaits when we will meet beyond time's measure.

Derived From Shakespeare
Pearl Hydler

In me thou see'st the glowing of such fire,
That on the ashes of her youth doth lie,
As the deathbed whereupon it must expire,
Consumed with that which it was nourished by,
This thou perceive'st,
Which makes thy love more strong,
To love that well which thou must leave...

Jefferson Airplane
Surrealistic Pillow

from "Coming Back to Me"
Strolling the hills overlooking the shore,
I realize that I've been here before.
The shadow in the mist could have been anyone
I saw you...I saw you...coming back to me.

from "Today"
Today you'll make me say that I somehow have changed.
Today you'll look into my eyes, I'm just not the same.
To be any more than I am would be a lie.
I'm so full of love I could burst apart and start to cry.
Today everything you want, I swear it will all come true.
Today I realize how much I'm in love with you.
With you standing here I could tell the world what it means to love.
To go from here I can't use words, they don't say enough.
Please, please listen to me
It's taken so long to come true.
And it's all for you
All for you...

As I lay listening to the raindrops falling, I remembered you. I recalled your delight in the simple things in life - flowers opening their faces to the sun, the caring, love and attention you gave to our plants which flourished under your gentle hands, the joy you felt soaking in a bubble bath, my combing your hair for hours while we talked of our days and made plans for our future. Your pleasure in cooking and making love to the food you placed on our table, our laying in bed after a long day and reading to each other, your courageous spirit and ability to love unconditionally every person that came within your circle of light. How I miss you, Isabel. My life has changed because you touched it. I await the day we will meet again. Siempre tu amor.

Wonderful Memories
Sandra Reid

During my five minutes of silence for our dear beloved friend Isabel, I remembered the authenticity of her laughter, the glow in her eyes, and the penetration of them when she connected with one's spirit.

Our friend Isabel left us all with wonderful memories, and I smile because she did so, and shed a tear because I miss her.
